In Madagascar the fantastic fishing ressources can be
explained by its huge reef which is the 3rd in size in
the wolrd and particulary Nosy Bé island with a
variety of shoreline and landscapes facing the canal of
Mozambique , the island is located between the mainland
and the African continent .A lot of pelagic fishes of
the indian ocean are going trough this canal during their
migration.
If Nosy Bé gives always a chance for good surprises
, there are 2 beautifull archipelagoes , the Mitsio in
the north of the island and the Radama down south , who
are offering to the sport fisherman a fanstastic and vast
playground.
Numerous small islands with warm and productive waters
, this volcanic (Mitsio) and esturarian (Radama) archipelagoes
are closes to the big deep drop offs and no professional
fishing is happening there so it is plentifull of fishes.
To this fabulous fishing spots you must add the unique
charm of Nosy Bé the island of the thousand perfumes,

Fishes and season : Various technics and
pleasures :
You can fish all year round. But because of big storms
that appear frequently during mid january and mid march
we don't fish during this month.
A lot of sport fishing species can be caught in Nosy Bé
and it surroundings. Most of them are here all year round
: Giant Trevally and some other varieties , Groupers,
Yellowtails, Snappers, Dolphin fish, Barracudas, Wahoos,
King Mackerel, Sharks, etc. Some other species are here
only a certain period of the year : Sailfishes (from may
to january), Black Marlins , Yellow Fin tunas et Dog tooth
tunas (october to april).
More than the variety of fishes , the average size of
the catches is good and the possibility to catch a trophy
fish makes this little jewel of the Indian Ocean a place
really apart.
With Tropical fishing, most of the catches are released
to preserve the stocks and also because it is our idea
of sportfishing .
Some catches can be kept if their are deeply hooked or
taken from the depth (deep jigging ) or just to enjoy
a delicous meal of freshly caught fish .
You will assist to the fanstactic show of the dolphins
following the boat and sometimes even the whales which
are numerous in the area…

top water fishing He will also share with you is high
skills in fly fishing if you like to try to prospect the
estuaries, mangroves , lagoons and passes with (streamer
, popper etc..) ! Also Ludovic is disposed to do some
life and dead bait fishing (bottom, trolling) if you just
want to vary the way of fishing.

The boat of Tropical Fishing is a brand new open VANDAMME
of 7.70 m long and 2.75 m wide , he has been launched
in late 2007 and his name is " Lakintana " ("
the stars " in local language) : Build specialy for
fishing , with center console , removable top roof lot
of space in the front and in the rear , big storage places
, security equipment,gps plotter with more than 200 spots
in memory ,fish finder , brand new 4 stroke SUZUKI 115
horse power engine plus a smaller engine for safety ,
rod holders, livewell …
It is very stable and easy to fish with , you can be 4
anglers without any problem .
Ir is regulary checked and revised for a total safety
during all your trip.
Accomodation and food : welcome to Nosy Bé !
You will have different lodging options. We have selected
them on a beautifull sandy beach with turquoise water
nearby ! You will stay in a confortable bungalow or a
cosy hotel room in Nosy Bé, or camp in the bungalows
or under the tent (BIVOUAC) while beeing in the the archipelagoes
for few days.
Whatever the choice is we always look for the best option
possible , safe and clean wich alows you to end your day
confortably , this is very important for Tropical Fishing
that after and exciting but exhausting fishing day you
can relax and enjoy your evening.
About the food you will discover the local gastronomy
with delicious zebu and chicken meat , fresh fish and
sea food , excellent rice and vegetables as well as numerous
fruits like grapefruit, bananas, mangos , papaya etc…If
you like our excedllents cooks will make you some european
style dishes as well.Along with this you can taste delicious
south african wines , local rhum , spices and the wolrd
famous vanilla of madagascar.
