We are inviting you to a real fishing expedition deep  into the Amazon rainforest to chase the « Tucunarés » or Giant Peacock Bass of rio Sucunduri .

As soon as you arrive in Manaus, you are transferred by private airplane to the small city of Nova Olinda do Norte where you take place in a typical boat of the Amazon which cruise upstream the end of the afternoon and all night long .

In the morning you arrive at the entry of the rio Sucunduri and you board by team of 2 anglers your fishing boats( 6 meters aluminium with 25 hp engine and electric motor ) driven by well trained local guides and who perfectly  know the area and where the big Peacok Bass stands .

During this time the rest of the assistance team sets up the base camp (where you will sleep during 5 nights) with individual tents, matelasses, hamocks, kitchen, showers , toilets, lavabos right in the middle of the amazonian forest, 200 kilometers away from the first village (for security reasons there are several iridium phones in the camp). The food is excellent and with a lot of different meals for every taste, even the laundry and always fresh drinks are included due to an exceptionally well organized logistics.

The best way to fish is to use topwater or sub surface lures and also big streamers on the fly. One can reasonably expect to catch between 15 and 30 « Tucunarés » per day and most of the fishermen catch at least one 7 kilos fish or more during their trip.Along with the Peacock Bass, you can expect to catch many other species as:
Pirarara, Piraiba, Surubim, Traïra, Cahcara, Piranhas, Matrinxa, Bicuda ….

Attacks are very violents and the fights are intense and powerful, you need to have top quality tackle for these fights. It is an experience to live for the lovers of lure fishing. And what to say about the fantastic amazonian landscapes, the virgin forest rich in fauna and flora .Arara, Tapir, Tucan, Colibri, Caïmans, Anacondas, Jaguarss, Monkeys, Capibaïra, Giant Otter, Orchids, Majestuous trees ….
